Installations are scheduled ususally one or two weeks in advance . If you call the Child Seat installation hotline and leave the requested information, a technician will call you back within 48 hours and schedule an appointment for you

The Registry of Motor Vehicles may not have your current address. The Registry mails to the last address that was supplied. Notifying the Registry of a change of address is very important.

What happens to my property once it has been processed as evidence?
Evidence is returned to the Property Unit and the Detective assiged to the case is notified. If your property is not needed for court proceedings, it will be returned to you. You should contact your assigned detecitve if you have questions regarding your property.

Do you provide digital fingerprinting?
As a service, we use ink to capture your fingerprints. Arrested persons fingerprints are captured using LiveScan, a digital fingerprinting machine.

I work in Cambridge but I live in another town. How can I get my fingerprints taken?
The Cambridge Police Department only provides fingerprinting services to residents of Cambridge, therefore, you must be a Cambridge resident. A driver's license, bill statement or other mail with your address in Cambridge may be used as proof of residency. Please contact your town of residence for fingerprinting services.

If fingerprint cards have not been sent to you, we will provide you with the FBI applicant fingerprint cards (FD 258).

The Identification Unit provides fingerprinting services for Cambridge residents. Fingerprinting hours:
Mon: 2p.m. - 4p.m. & 5p.m. - 7p.m.
Tues-Thurs: 2p.m. – 4p.m.
Fri.: No fingerprinting service.
