  • Zing Laser Cutting 101 (Main)

    Learn how to use our Epilog Zing—an industry-standard laser-cutting machine. Complete this workshop to earn a badge for the Zing laser cutter. With a badge, you can reserve the Epilog Zing to use on our equipment booking page at designated times. You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this program.   • Solstice Tai Chi & Reflections (Main)

    Explore Qigong warm-ups and the elements of Tai Chi in a low key, friendly environment with instructor, Ellen DeGenova. This session will be infused with winter solstice reflections on the value of darkness, dormancy, strategic retreat and “don’t know mind.” There’s no complicated choreography. A seated option is available. No experience necessary. Registration is required.

  • CPL Nature Club: Winter Solstice Story Time

    Brrr... Winter is coming! On the shortest day of the year, we'll gather for a cozy story time. Come read, sing, and welcome back the light! This program can accommodate 45 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly.     During this reservation period, anyone who has completed Hive training and is certified to use equipment or studio(s) can reserve Hive equipment or studio spaces. Staff will assist participants as they are able.

    Join musicians of the Boston Festival Orchestra for "Festive Fanfare," a dazzling celebration of the season's joy and warmth at the Cambridge Public Library! Featuring the radiant power of brass instruments, this festive concert will fill the air with beloved holiday classics, heartwarming melodies, and jubilant fanfares. Perfect for audiences of all ages, this free event celebrates holiday cheer and musical splendor! This event is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Cambridge Public Library. Registration is not required.

    It's a Library dance party! All ages. This program can accommodate 130 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program.   • Hive Safety Training (Virtual)

    In this workshop, you will learn about our makerspace, how to use our resources, and how to keep safe in The Hive. Registration is required. The Zoom link will be sent out an hour before the workshop starts. Before taking in-person workshops in The Hive, all makers must bring signed copies of The Hive User Agreement and Waivers.
