The following are matters which the Chair reasonably anticipates will be discussed, and for which public testimony will be taken, as of 5:00 p.m.
Application Benedetto, Inc. d/b/a Benedetto, has applied for a new Common Victualler All Alcohol License to be exercised at One Bennett Street with proposed hours of 5:00p.m. to 1:00a.m. seven days per week and seating for 200 inside and 26 seasonal patio seats on private property, Michael Pagliarini, as proposed Manager of record a premise described as: Restaurant on the second floor consisting of two dining rooms, bar and lounge (approximately 5,300 SF) and seasonal outdoor dining on terrace (approximately 1,000 SF). An application has also been made for an Entertainment License to include: Radio and Audio tape machine/CD/ computerized automatic amusement device digital media playing music at conversation level and 2 TV’s, video screens, or film projector screens.
Application Cambridge Public Schools has filed an application for a Garage license for additional Flammables Storage at 100-102 Putnam Avenue for 69 parking spaces, 690 gallons of gasoline in the tanks of autos only, and 25 gallons of Class 1 in five (5) plastic five (5) gallon containers. An Application has also been filed for an Open Air Parking Lot License at said address for six (6) surface parking spaces.
Application Star Markets Company, Inc. d/b/a Star Markets, holder of an All Alcohol Package Store License at 699 Mount Auburn Street has applied for a Change of Manager to Kenneth David McCormack.
Informational Kaya-Ka, Inc. d/b/a Kaya Restaurant, holder of an inactive Common Victualler All Alcohol License at 1924 Massachusetts Avenue due to non-use of said license pursuant to G.L. c.138 §77 and G.L. c.140 §9.
Violation Cambridge Motor Car Co., LLC, holder of a Class 1 and Class 2 Car Dealer License and a Garage with Additional Flammables Storage at 275 Fresh Pond Parkway due to alleged violation of Cambridge Municipal Code 8.16.080(E)- Loading and unloading outside of allowable times.
Informational River Gods, Inc. holder of a Common Victualler All Alcohol License and Entertainment License at 125 River Street pursuant to G.L. c.138 §77 and G.L. c.140 §9
Matters to Be Voted On:
Moksa, LLC d/b/a MONROE, holder of a Common Victualler All Alcohol License and Entertainment License at 450 Massachusetts Avenue due to police reports received by the License Commission alleging disturbances outside of the establishment causing public safety concerns on June 9, 12 and 25 of 2016. Also for alleged violation of Rule 1 of the Rules and Regulations of the Cambridge License Commission.
Moksa, LLC d/b/a MONROE, holder of a Common Victualler All Alcohol License and Entertainment License at 450 Massachusetts Avenue due to police reports received by the License Commission alleging disturbances outside of the establishment causing public safety concerns on May 1, 2016. Also for alleged violation of Rule 1 of the Rules and Regulations of the Cambridge License Commission.
Fairfield Inn & Suites, 215 Monsignor O’Brien Hghwy., License No. OAP10055, operating without a license in violation of G.L. ch. 149 sec. 56.
Administrative Matters:
Request for Change to Licensed Corporation: Kaya-Ka, Inc. d/b/a Kaya Restaurant to Kaya-Ka, Inc. d/b/a Porter House Grill, ACH 01605; VIC00230; ENT00098.
David Friedman, on behalf of Insta-Brite Mobile Washing, Inc., has applied for a Special Noise Variance to be exercised from August 2 through August 3, 2016 from 9:30 PM until 6:30 AM at the Porter Sq. Shopping Center, for pressure washing.
Sez., Inc. d/b/a Downstairs Café has filed a Request for Reconsideration of the decision of July 18, 2016 to revoke the license.
Walden Park Apartments, 205 and 225 Walden Street, License No. OAP10086, operating without a license in violation of G.L. ch. 149 sec. 56. Paid renewal on June 22, 2016, prior to receiving hearing notice.
Salah Chowdhury, a Cambridge resident, has requested a letter from the Board to be able to operate his livery vehicle at MassPort.
MALT & WINE LICENSES WITH OR WITHOUT ENTERTAINMENT:
- Jennifer Novotney, has applied for a malt and wine license to be exercised at MIT Museum, 265 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, on 7/28/16 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. for a Science Trivia night. Expected attendance - 60 people.
- Arlyn dePagter, has applied for a malt and wine license to be exercised at MIT, 100 Main Street, Cambridge, on 8/4/16 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. for a reception. Expected attendance – 270 people.
- Jillian Davis, has applied for a malt license to be exercised at Technology Square Courtyard, 300-500 Technology Square, Cambridge, on 8/13/16 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for an outdoor corn toss tournament fundraiser. Expected attendance – 250 people.
- Thomas Volkert, has applied for a malt and wine license to be exercised at MIT Museum, 265 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, on 10/13/16 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. for an opening social for conference. Expected attendance – 200 people.
ENTERTAINMENT LICENSES ONLY:
- Melissa Fraitag, has applied for an entertainment license for Patrons dancing, Recorded/live music and Amplification system for a wedding reception at Commonwealth Cambridge, 11 Broad Canal Way, Cambridge, on 8/6/16 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Expected attendance – 150 people.
- Mary Popeo, has applied for an entertainment license for Recorded/live music and Amplification system for a bike ride & rally at Riverside Press Park, 2 Blackstone Street, Cambridge, on 8/7/16 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Expected attendance – 200 people.
