Interlibrary Loan
If a title is not available in the Minuteman Library Network, you can request it through the Commonwealth Catalog. The Commonwealth Catalog is another way to access materials in participating regions of Massachusetts. You must login using a valid library card and pin.
If the item is not available through the Commonwealth Catalog and is more than 12 months old, it may be requested through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). ILL provides access to the holdings of public and academic libraries throughout the continental United States. The purpose of this service is to strengthen the depth of offerings available to individuals who want to explore a topic in greater detail than the scope of the Cambridge Public Library or the Minuteman Network collections can support. ILL is neither intended to nor can it replace access to the research facilities of an academic system.
You may request ILL materials in person or online. You may have one request active at a given time. Materials can take 3-6 weeks to arrive. We will send you an email when your title arrives.
You may have three active article requests at a given time. In most cases, articles will be sent to your email address.
