Welcome to the new Main Library. Here is a variety of pictures including two from the 1920s.

The restored historic Library as seen from the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School roof. The historic Library contains the Computer Commons, Reading Room, Teen Room and various collections. It has been restored to its appearance when it opened in 1889.

The new addition of the Main Library. Glass walls give the library plenty of natural light while providing stunning views of the park. The new Library contains the entire audio/video collection, most of the print collection, magazines and newspapers, Research Room, Cambridge Room, study rooms, Children's Room and an underground 230-person Lecture Hall.

Side view of the historic Library. The center and left walls had to be rebuilt when the 1967 addition was torn down.

Historic Library Reading Room. The paint, lighting, chairs and tables have been chosen to represent what it would have looked like in this room in 1889 when the Library opened.

Historic Library. The WPA Project murals had faded badly over the years but were completely touched up and now look fabulous!
