Harvard Square Improvements Project

Includes Linden, Pympton, Dunster, and JFK St.

This project has been completed. No further updates to this project page will be made.


Crews have completed all major construction activities for this project.  During the week of June 11, the contractor will perform final line striping on JFK St and sections of Dunster St. Line striping will take place at night.

 The proposed schedule is as follows:

Linden Street:  Spring 2011

Plympton Street:  Spring 2011 into Summer 2011

JFK Street:  Spring 2011 into Spring 2012

Dunster Street:  Fall 2011

Please note this schedule is tentative. 

The Harvard Square Improvements Project includes surface enhancements, lighting upgrades, and upgrades to utilities.  The following is a list of the streets included in this contract and the associated improvements:

 

Dunster Street

  • Reconstructed roadway and sidewalks.
  • Raised crosswalk at Massachusetts Ave and Dunster St. 

 

JFK Street 

  • Reconstructed roadway and sidewalks
  •  New lighting fixtures.

 

Linden Street

  • Reconstructed roadway and sidewalks.

 

Plympton Street

  • Reconstructed roadway and sidewalks.
