NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING
Removal of Public Shade Trees
City of Cambridge, Department of Public Works


Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, Sections 3 and 4, a public hearing will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall (2nd Fl. Ackermann Room), 795 Mass Ave, Cambridge, Mass., to consider the removal of the following public tree(s):

1. Opp. 139 Main Street in the median - Removal of 5 pine trees (12.4”, 12.9”, 10.3”, 11.1, and 15”) and 3 Ailanthus trees (4.3”, 14.6”, and 12.3”) on top of MBTA tunnel for Longfellow Bridge improvements.

2. 3 Langdon Street – Remove of 43.5” silver maple due to significant internal decay and cavities.

3. 284 Huron Ave – Removal of 2 Norway maples (20.5" and 21.8") due to significant canopy dieback and structural issues. Location will be replanted.

4. 288 Huron Ave – Removal of 16.1" Norway maple due to canopy dieback and structural issues. Location will be replanted.

The tree(s) identified above have been posted for public inspection. Any objections to their removal must be submitted in writing to the City Arborist, prior to or during the hearing.
