This past Thursday, the City's contractor, MIG Corporation, performed paving operations around the Cambridge Street Tunnel. In order to complete the asphalt paving associated with the Cambridge Street Tunnel Project, the contractor will need to perform night work on Tuesday, September 3. Please see below for a detailed list of street closures around the tunnel.

- Quincy Street, between Broadway and Cambridge Street, will be closed from 8pm-2am. Motorists traveling on Broadway will be detoured to Prescott Street.

- Quincy Street, between Kirkland St. and Cambridge St., will be closed in both directions. Motorists will be detoured to Irving Street to Cambridge Street.

- Peabody Street will be closed from 8pm-12am. Traffic will be detoured through Cambridge Street eastbound side of the tunnel.

- The westbound side of the Cambridge Street Tunnel will be closed from 9pm - 2am. Traffic will be detoured to Trowbridge St. , Kirkland St. , Oxford St., Wendell St., Mass Ave.

Emergency vehicles will have access to the eastbound and westbound sides of the Cambridge Street Tunnel at all times. Cyclists are permitted to travel on the tunnel surface area (the overpass). Detour signage will be placed ahead of the construction activity to guide motorists around the work zone. MBTA bus routes and schedules will be affected, so we are asking the public to check in with the MBTA to view adjusted schedules.
