Memorial Drive Paving Operations

In connection with the Western Avenue Reconstruction Project, crews will be performing roadway paving operations on Memorial Drive between Western Avenue and Hingham Street tomorrow (Friday), October 4 and Saturday, October 5. Crews were originally scheduled to perform this work from 9pm on Friday night through 5pm on Saturday evening. To help minimize the inconvenience for residents and motorists, crews are now scheduled to grind the roadway tomorrow from 9am-3pm and the remainder of the paving operations will take place on Saturday from 6am-5pm. During these scheduled work hours, Memorial Drive, between Western Avenue and Hingham Street, will be limited to one lane of travel in each direction and Western Avenue, near the Memorial Drive intersection, will be intermittently limited to one lane of travel. Access for cyclists and pedestrians using the Charles River path will remain at all times. Police officers will be onsite to assist with traffic management. This work is being performed in order to repair the roadway that was disturbed during the installation of the new 36” drain line between the new outfall at the Charles River and Western Avenue.
