A Cambridge resident witnessed his bike stolen from the intersection of Main Street and Portland Street. The victim could not stop the suspect and provided responding officers with a description. A search of the area was conducted yielding negative results at this time.

A Somerville resident reports an unknown person shattered the rear passenger vent window and opened her locked 2009 Toyota that she parked on Henry Street at Brookline Street at 5:15 p.m. on 9/16/14. Stolen from vehicle were a laptop, iPod, Nook, clothing, shoes and personnel documents.

A Cambridge business owner reported that he received a phone call from an unknown party claiming to be the U.S. Treasury Department employee. The suspect stated that the U.S Treasury was owed money from past tax returns and she was attempting to secure the debt. No money was exchanged.

Hardy was then transported to Cambridge Police Headquarters for booking in the usual manner without incident.

A Somerville resident was stopped on Mass Ave at Pearl Street for a red light violation. The license plate on the vehicle did not come back to that vehicle. During the stop it was discovered that the operator had purchased the 2013 Smart car he was driving on August 25, 2014 in Bow, NH. The operator never registered the vehicle in Massachusetts outside of the 7 day grace period. He never had his new car inspected either. The operator will be summonsed for the Red Light Violation, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Unlawfully Attaching Plates, and an Inspection Sticker Violation.
