Cambridge Police placed Douglas Ward, 32, 64 Fitzgerald Street in Randolph, under arrest for OUI-Liquor. Witnesses observed a male exit the driver's seat after a crash and walk down Norfolk Street in the direction of Bishop Allen Drive. An officer was able to locate the male later identified as Ward. He was visible unstable on his feet and was swaying back and forth. While speaking with Ward, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his person as well as his speech was slurred and his eyes were red glassy. At this time, Ward was asked to preform a field sobriety test, however, he refused. Ward was subsequently placed under arrest for OUI-Liquor.

NEGLIGENT OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE C90 S24

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Cambridge Police summonsed a resident of Somerville for Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Operation Under the Influence of Liquor, and a Marked Lanes Violation. Cambridge Police were called to the intersection of Massachusetts Ave. and Somerville Ave, for a report of a driver who had been found unconscious with an unknown breathing status. Upon arrival, officers found several fire fighters, knocking loudly on the car windows attempting to wake up the driver. The motor vehicle’s engine was running and was still in drive. After several attempts to wake up the driver, the Cambridge Fire Department was forced to gain entry by smashing the rear passenger window of the car. The driver did not wake for the smashing of the window, nor fire personnel attempting to shake or sternum rub him. After turning the vehicle off and putting it in park, Officers and Firefighters were able to wake the driver up. He had bloodshot, glossy eyes and extremely slurred speech. He admitted to coming back from a bar, where he stated he had two drinks, but was unsure which bar he went to or where he was. He was transported to a hospital, where he was handed his criminal complaint.

A Somerville resident reported seeing a suspicious white male in the 1700 block of Mass. The reporting party stated that as they walked to work at 2 a.m. this morning, the male followed her to her place of business and began to bang on the front door. He was yelling at her, however, she could not hear what he was saying to her. According to the reporting party, the male stayed outside of the business for approximately five to ten minutes. The male is described as white, medium height and weight wearing grey sweatpants and sweatshirt. The reporting party was advised to call the police if she sees this male again.
