In conjunction with the planned installation of separated bike lanes on Brattle Street, the City’s contractor, E.J. Paving, will begin making roadway improvements on Brattle St. between Harvard Square and Sparks St. on Saturday, September 24. This work is expected to take one week to complete.
What to expect:
- Improvements include grinding and repaving the street.
- Between the grinding and the repaving, the roadway surface will be gravel and there will be a height difference between the regular road and the section under construction. Please drive slowly.
- Please use caution when navigating the area, including stepping off curbs and opening car doors as curbs will be higher.
- Once the roadway is repaved, new pavement markings will be painted.
- A special noise variance has been approved for this work to take place beginning at 7AM on Saturday, September 24th.
- Work hours on Saturday will be 7AM-4PM.
- Work hours M-F will be 7AM-4PM.
- There will be no work on Sunday, September 25th.
