Learn about Black women who have shaped Cambridge via the
Black Women's History Stroll created by the Cambridge History Museum. See the exhibit in storefronts at the Cambridge Senior Center, 806 Massachusetts Ave.; 500 Massachusetts Ave. block; and 425 Massachusetts Ave. block through the end of March.
Join Cambridge City Councilor E. Denise Simmons for a launch ceremony at the Senior Center on Sunday, March 6, at 3 p.m. The panels honor “women of color who blazed trails in Cambridge, who lived life on their own terms, and who changed this world for the better,” the museum writes. “This History Stroll features women whose stories are Cambridge’s story,” Councilor Simmons writes. Hear about how the project was created and stroll through Central Square to see the exhibition yourself. Admission is free.
The Black Women's History Stroll is supported by the Cambridge City Manager's Office, Cambridge Citywide Senior Center, Cambridge Arts, the Central Square Business Improvement District, the League of Women for Community Service, Twining Properties' Market Central, and Morris Nagar Properties / 3MJ Realty.
