Join Cambridge Arts for a free Bike Tour of Public Art in Cambridgeport and Riverside on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. in partnership with the Cambridge Public Library. The tour will begin and end at the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza at 237 Franklin St., just outside of the Central Square branch library. The ride is about 3.5 miles long, with stops to talk about the art and meet some of the creators--including Cambridge poet Benjamin Tolkin and Cambridge artists William Reimann and David Fichter.
Bicyclists of all ages are encouraged to attend.

The art on the tour addresses civil rights, community activism, wildlife in Cambridge, and other themes. Around the library and Green Street parking garage, we’ll see mosaics by Lilli Ann Rosenberg; a stairway installation by Edwin Andrews; murals by Cedric Douglas and Silvia López Chavez; graphics by John Powell; and a poem by Benjamin Tolkin.
Then bike to Vusumuzi Maduna's restored "Inner City Totem I" at the Cambridge Community Center; recently refreshed William Reimann granite carvings at Corporal Burns Park; Bernard LaCasse's restored "Beat the Belt" mural on Micro Center; David Fichter's mural on Trader Joe's; and Vivian Beer's restored “Thunderhead” bench at David Nunes Park.
All riders are strongly encouraged to wear helmets.
The tour is expected to take about an hour and a half. Cambridge Police will join us to assist at major intersections.
Refreshments will be served at the end of the tour.
