Cambridge Police responded to the 1000 block of Cambridge Street for reports of two unwanted parties sleeping in a motor vehicle in a private lot. The driver of the motor vehicle, Etsub Legesse, 23, 13 Lincoln Street in Cambridge, exhibited furtive movements (i.e., reaching beneath the driver's seat) leading to a pat frisk of his person and the motor vehicle. The frisk revealed a large capacity firearm obtained (without a license) under the driver's seat. A search of the motor vehicle further discovered a substantial quantity of marijuana and a scale inconsistent with personal usage. Legesse was subsequently placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class-D Substance, Conspiracy to Violate Class-D Drug Law, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle -- John Teal, 23, 201 Harvard Street in Cambridge -- was also placed under arrest for Conspiracy to Violate Class-D Drug Law and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class-D Substance.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Cambridge Police arrested John Gannon, 60, 112 South Hampton Street in Boston, for Receiving Stolen Property -$1200 and three warrants out of Lowell, Boston and Ayer District Courts (Uttering a False Check, Possession of a Class B and A Drug, and Larceny over $1,200). Officers identified Gannon sitting in Carl Baron Plaza and were aware that he had active warrants. It was later discovered that Gannon’s personal bike had been reported stolen from a Cambridge resident on 7/18/2022. Gannon was questioned regarding the bicycle after being booked and stated that he had purchased the bicycle two weeks prior and would not answer any other questions.
