Cambridge Police arrested Michael Hill, 47, 38 Eider Street in Boston, for shoplifting by asportation. Hill started an argument with staff about paying for beer in a liquor store in Central Square. Staff flagged down police and, as they arrived on scene, they could see beer bottles in Hill’s pockets as he walked away. Officers asked staff if he paid for the beer and they stated no. Officers were able to put a stop on Hill minutes later to confirm that the beers were stolen from the business.

HARVARD ST
Cambridge Police responded to the area of Harvard Street for a report of a stolen bicycle. A party later identified as Tyjuan Greene, 39, 6 Andrews Street in Easton, was seen on video leaving a Prospect Street store with a reported stolen bicycle. Officers located Greene in the area of Bishop Allen Drive in possession of the described stolen bicycle. He matched the description of the individual seen in the video stealing the bicycle. Following an investigation, Greene was arrested for Larceny Under $1200.

Cambridge Police responded to the 600 block of Massachusetts Avenue for a call box activation. After an investigation, it was determined that Catherine Scott, 41, 252 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington, struck an individual in the face with an open hand slap after a brief verbal altercation. When officers approached Scott to investigate the assault, she was seen by multiple officers drinking an alcoholic beverage in view of the public on the street. Later that afternoon, Scott was seen by multiple officers sitting in a public park drinking another alcoholic beverage. Scott will be charged with Assault and Battery as well as a City Ordinance Violation for Drinking in Public.

A resident of Boston was summonsed to Cambridge District Court on charges of Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Attaching Plates after it was determined the motor vehicle he was operating was not properly registered or insured and had a cancelled license plate belonging to another motor vehicle attached to it.
