Cambridge Police took a report for a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist. The bicyclist reportedly drove into the motorist’s vehicle and caused damage to the vehicle. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with injuries to their knees.

Cambridge Police placed David Meichale, 35, 9 Bristol Street in Cambridge, under arrest for Assault and Battery on + 60/Disabled with Injury and Unarmed Robbery +60. Meichale was charged after officers saw them in a confrontation with another individual. After the people were separated, it was determined that Meichale shoulder checked an individual over the age of 60 years old and grabbed three $20 bills from the victim.

Cambridge Police Department responded at Central Square business for a report of shoplifting. After officers positively identified the suspect who stole two bottles of wine and left the store without paying, thanks to the help of the reporting party and surveillance cameras, Whitlow Alvin, 67, 730 Cummings Highway out of Boston, was placed under arrest for Shoplifting by Asportation and also charged with Disorderly Conduct for walking in and out of a busy road, almost causing an accident with oncoming traffic, risking to harm himself and drivers on the road.

ECC was advised of a bicyclist struck by the door of a parked Uber vehicle on the 1900 block of Mass Ave. The bicyclist stated that he was traveling in the bike lane passing Davenport St. As he was traveling, a motor vehicle was parked halfway in the bike lane. As he was passing the vehicle, the rear passenger door struck him. He fell off his bike scratching his leg and his arm. Pro EMS responded to the area for an evaluation and the cyclist was medically cleared.

HOWARD ST
Cambridge Police responded to the 300 block of Western Avenue for a report of gun shots. Multiple reporting persons called 911 and reported hearing gunshots as well as confirming two victims who sustained gunshot wounds. The responding officers administered first aid on scene to the two victims, and they were later transported by ambulances to local hospitals in Boston. An arrest has not been made at this time.
