KIRKLAND ST
Cambridge Police, Cambridge Fire, and Pro EMS responded to the area of Quincy Street and Kirkland Street for the report of an individual unconscious behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. The operator of the vehicle was woken up by medical personnel. It was observed that the vehicle ignition was on and the transmission was in drive. The operator refused all medical attention. Officers spoke to the operator, who had blood shot glassy eyes, slurred speech, and a moderate odor of alcohol emanating from his person. The operator of the vehicle was identified as John Jones, 36, 43 Stanley Street in Boston. After an investigation, Jones was placed under arrest and is being charged with OUI Liquor and Unregistered Motor Vehicle.

Cambridge Police was in the area on the 600 block of Massachusetts Ave when flagged down by a victim of an assault that had just occurred. The victim stated she was pushed to the ground unprovoked and was following the suspect down Massachusetts Ave. After getting a description of the suspect, a resident of Boston was summonsed to court for Assault and Battery.

Cambridge Police summonsed a resident of Cambridge to Cambridge District Court for Shoplifting and Trespassing. A manager of a local business in Central Square flagged down officers about the suspect. The manager stated that she saw the suspect put items in her bag without paying and immediately went to get police. The suspect did not have the means to pay for these items and was instructed to return the items and was informed she is being summonsed to Cambridge District Court.

Cambridge Police responded to the intersection of Cambridge Street and Cardinal Medeiros Avenue for a reported motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist. While en route to the call, ECC broadcasted that the operator of the suspect motor vehicle had fled the scene. Upon arriving on scene, the victim was identified with an injury to their left arm. Responding Units canvassed the area in an attempt to locate the motorist with negative results. The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital for further treatment/evaluation.

A Boston resident reported the theft of a moped on October 21, 2022 at approximately 5 p.m. The moped, a 2020 Kymco Agility 50, was stolen on October 7, 2022 sometime between 3 p.m. and midnight from Hampshire Street. It was found abandoned the following day within Cambridge. A report was taken documenting the theft and recovery.
