Expect traffic and road closures near MIT and Central Square on September 18

Several roads in Cambridge will close for community events on Sunday, September 18. Expect traffic impacts near MIT and in Central Square.

The Spring Classic 5K road race will take place on Sunday, September 18, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The route begins at 64 Sidney St., turns left on Pacific Street, left on Albany Street, left on Massachusetts Avenue, left on Putnam Avenue, left on Brookline Street, and right on Franklin Street. Sidney Street will close near the race start and there will be rolling closures along the route. Expect traffic impacts from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Dance Complex will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Sunday, September 18 with Dance Happens Here: 2022. The event in Central Square will include dance lessons, flash performances, music, and food trucks. Norfolk Street between Bishop Allen Drive and Massachusetts Avenue will close from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Massachusetts Avenue between Sydney Street and Prospect Street will close from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
