Expect traffic and road closures September 24-25 near Harvard Square & North Cambridge

Several roads in Cambridge will close for community events on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25. Expect traffic impacts near Harvard Square and in North Cambridge.

The Jose Mateo Dance Company will host the Dance for World Community Festival near Harvard Square on Saturday, September 24. The festival takes place between noon and 6 p.m., with more than 50 performances and classes, followed by a dance party from 6-8 p.m. Massachusetts Avenue will close between Trowbridge Street and Bow Street from 6 a.m. - 11 p.m. for the festival.

The Paddy's Annual Cambridge Classic 5K race for girls’ sports in Cambridge will take place on Sunday, September 25, beginning at 10 a.m., in North Cambridge. The route starts at Paddy’s Lunch at 260 Walden St., proceeds down Walden Street, turns right on Raymond Street, right on Huron Avenue, right on Sherman Street, right on Rindge Avenue, left on Cedar Street, left on Harvey Street, follows off-street paths to Rindge Avenue, turns left on Rindge Avenue, right on Sherman Street, and returns to Paddy’s Lunch. Expect traffic impacts and rolling closures in the area from 10-11 a.m. Walden Street, between Garden Street and Sherman Street will remain closed from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
