  • Weekend Lane Closure on Monsignor O'Brien Highway Beginning Saturday, June 18th

    The MBTA announced today it will proceed with a series of two weekend lane closures on Monsignor O’Brien Highway outbound in Cambridge between the Gilmore Bridge the new Lechmere Station. The work is scheduled to begin, Saturday and Sunday, June 18 and 19, from 7:30 a.m. until late afternoon (3:00 to 6:00 p.m. depending on day-to-day progress). Work is scheduled to continue in this area the following weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26.

  • 2022 City of Cambridge Scholarship Recipients Honored

    This year, the City of Cambridge awarded 81 scholarships of $3,000 each for a total $243,000 to Cambridge high school seniors and others pursuing higher education. Since the program’s inception in 1993, the City has awarded 1,269 scholarships totaling over $3.1 million.
  • Yi-An Huang Selected as Next Cambridge City Manager

    The Cambridge City Council voted to make an offer of employment to Yi-An Huang as the next City Manager at a special meeting held on Monday, June 6, 2022. Mr. Huang will succeed City Manager Louis A. DePasquale who is retiring on July 5, 2022. The appointment of Mr. Huang is contingent on successful contract negotiations. The City Council also voted to appoint Department of Public Works Commissioner Owen O’Riordan as interim Acting City Manager effective July 6, 2022. He will serve as interim Acting City Manager until Mr. Huang is appointed.
