Register for 2024 Summer Basketball Leagues!

Recreation offers Summer Basketball Leagues for Cambridge children, youth, and teens ages 8 –19. This year, we're excited to offer a new league, “Level Up,” for female athletes ages 12-14. “Level Up” joins the Medina Dixon Instructional Basketball Girls League (Girls, ages 8-11), Davonte Neal Instructional League (Co-ed, ages 8-11), Sharif Moustafa Instructional League (Co-ed ages 9-13), Kito Jackson League (Boys ages 12-14 / grades 6-8), and Eurie Stamps, Sr. League (Boys ages 15 – 19 / grades 9-12). See scheduling details below.

2024 Summer Basketball League scrimmages begin the week of June 24 and games begin the week of July 1. League championship games will be held the week of August 12.
The registration fee is $10 per player, made by check or money order to "City of Cambridge."

To register for 2024 Recreation Summer Basketball Leagues, fill out the Summer Basketball Leagues Registration Form and return it with the registration fee to: the War Memorial Recreation Center, 1640 Cambridge St. (front desk) or the Department of Human Service Programs c/o Recreation, 51 Inman St, 3rd floor.

Spots in Summer Basketball Leagues are limited. Leagues remain open until filled in the order applications are received.

Fall and Winter Basketball Leagues

Shoot Straight (January - March)

Offered in partnership by Cambridge Recreation and Shoot Straight Inc., Shoot Straight is an instructional basketball league open to Cambridge Boys and Girls in grades 3-6. The goal of the program is to teach young athletes basketball skills, team play, and sportsmanship. Shoot Straight runs from January - March and each session provides a combination of skills instruction and game play.

Cambridge Pride (November - mid-March)

Cambridge Pride is a travel basketball league open to Cambridge 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The season runs from November through mid-March and encourages participants to recognize and optimize their full potential as student athletes. The league is run by Cambridge Recreation.
