Description
This layer contains georectified aerial photo images of the City of Cambridge taken on November 19, 1947. This is not an orthophoto, but a mosaic of photos with overlap. The flight lines run north to south. Photo scale is unknown.
Purpose
The aerial photos were flown for the City of Cambridge. Aerial photos were taken in 1947 by Eastern Aerial Surveys Inc., of Boston, MA. Photos were stored at the DPW Engineering Department. Several photos were missing from the original set, and the missing photos were purchased in 2006 from Col-East of North Adams, MA who owned the original imagery. In 2011, they were scanned by GIS at high resolution, color balanced, and put into a seamless mosaic by Infotech Enterprises America.
