Emergency Response Planning
The Cambridge Water Department has extensive Emergency Action Plans to help prevent and respond to emergencies that may affect the water supply and/or surrounding residents. The Watershed Division ensures that both the Emergency Action Plan and Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Plan are enacted.
Issued in 2003 and most recently updated in 2019, the Dam Emergency Action Plan outlines the notification and operating procedures used in emergency situations to address dam stability and integrity, and public safety.
The Comprehensive Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Plan, issued in 2006 and most recently updated in 2019, outlines the steps taken to prevent hazardous materials releases and to guide intervention and clean-up efforts when needed.
