FLOW: Program Launch

Flow a grant program for The Port: Calling all individuals, collaborative groups, organizations, artists, businesses, youth, or schools who have an idea for a community building project for The Port neighborhood that places the arts in a central role.

Cambridge Arts, the official arts agency for the City of Cambridge, invites artists, collaborative groups, entrepreneurs, organizations, businesses, or schools to submit applications to a one-time grant program designed to inspire and support the creation of new artistic and cultural projects that reveal and respond to The Port neighborhood.

Applicants must be artists or an organization, individual, or other group who will partner with an artist. All forms of artistic practice are welcome. Multiple projects will be selected to be implemented between 2017 and 2021. Projects may be indoor or outdoor, temporary or long-term, programmatic or structural.

FLOW: A Grant Program for The Port is funded by percent-for-art funds attached to The Port Project construction work. $300,000 in funding is available. Multiple projects will be selected through this one-time grant program.

Categories:

Cambridge will grant a total of $300,000 which will be distributed over multiple projects. Proposals will be accepted in the following funding categories:
$1–20,000
$20,000–50,000
$50,000–150,000

Public information sessions will be held at the Community Art Center, 119 Windsor Street.
Monday, March 6 at 6:30pm
Saturday, March 11 at 9:00am
Monday, March 13 at 6:30pm

INFO SESSION PARKING / TRANSPORTATION:
If you will be driving to the info session, we recommend you park at a metered parking spot or public parking lot. There is metered parking along Main St., Mass Ave., and on Broadway, and there is a parking lot on Bishop Allen drive. The parking lot at the Community Art Center is not their property and it is possible to get towed. To arrive by public transportation, you can take the T to Central Station (9 minute walk from there), or Kendall/MIT station (12 minute walk).
