Hundreds of friends, family members and city dignitaries gathered in the Kresge Auditorium at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology last week to honor the admirable work conducted by citizens, personnel, and sworn officers who helped make the City of Cambridge the safest community it has been since 1963.
Nearly 50 awards were presented at the ceremony, which was dedicated to the men and woman of the Cambridge Police Department who served our country in the military. In addition to officers with the Cambridge Police, employees at the 1369 Coffee House and a citizen who stopped an attack on a woman at a Central Square MBTA station last September received awards.
