The Cambridge Police Department is seeking to identify a suspect associated with a rash of malicious destruction of property incidents that occurred Wednesday morning. The majority of these reports consisted of damage to motor vehicle windows, lights and/or mirrors. Overall, officers responded to 14 different reports of malicious destruction in the Peabody neighborhood.

The reports occurred on the following streets:
  • Avon Street
  • Bowdoin Street
  • Concord Avenue
  • Linnaean Street
  • Martin Street
  • Washington Avenue

A teenage male was reportedly in the two hundred block of Concord Avenue kicking a soccer ball and striking poles, trees and other things with an aluminum bat at approximately 3:03 a.m. Shortly thereafter, at approximately 3:30 a.m., a second caller reported a male with shorts and a t-shirt banging a vehicle on Martin Street with what appeared to be a stick.

A suspect was not located following the officers’ initial response and follow-up investigation.

Cambridge Police continue to actively investigate these incidents and ask anyone with information or possible surveillance footage to contact the Cambridge Police at 617-349-3300.   Those who wish to submit tips anonymously via phone, e-mail, text message or the Cambridge MyPD App, should visit www.CambridgePolice.org/Tips.
