A third person has been taken into custody following an investigation into the June 18, 2022 shooting in East Cambridge.
Zachary Buchheit, 18, Somerville, was arrested today in Somerville without incident by the Cambridge Police, U.S. Marshals and Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS). A warrant had been issued for his arrest after he was allegedly seen leaving a motor vehicle crash in Somerville following the shooting. The other person in the vehicle – Lennox Pierre-Louis, 20, Boston – had previously been taken into custody by Somerville Police on the day of the shooting following the crash and a foot pursuit. The arrest warrants for Buchheit were out of Cambridge District Court and for Assault to Murder (Joint Venture) and Trafficking Cocaine.
Kent Burns, 21, Boston, had previously been taken into custody in Cambridge on-scene following the shooting. He was charged with Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
