After the Israel-Hamas War broke out in October of 2023, Cambridge had an increase in the number of protests. One area of focus has been at Elbit Systems, an Israeli defense contractor, which has been the site of numerous acts of vandalism and property destruction since the war started. We wanted to share how we plan and what resources we provide to ensure the safety of the protestors and public in the area. The Cambridge Police Department is committed to providing ample space and opportunities for the public to engage in freedom of speech.
