Cambridge Police Department Investigates Reported Sexual Assault

INVESTIGATION UPDATE #2 May 23, 2024 - Cambridge Police Department Seeks Public Assistance in Reported Sexual Assault Investigation

Cambridge, MA – The Cambridge Police Department continues to use all means and resources to investigate a reported sexual assault that occurred on May 17, 2024. As part of the investigation, detectives are looking to see if anyone from the public captured any form of video that may assist them. We kindly ask the public to review their home surveillance, cell phones, and dash cameras that recorded the Cambridgepark Drive area between the hours of 5:00 p.m. to midnight, on Friday, May 17, 2024.

On Friday, May 17, 2024, at approximately 9:18 p.m., police responded to the Cambridgepark Drive area for an assault in progress. The victim told officers the assailant was a masked man with a knife. Detectives processed a crime scene in a restroom of a commercial building and began working with Massachusetts State Police and Middlesex District Attorney’s Office to identify and search for the suspect.

CPD continues to add extra patrols to the area as an additional precaution. As always, residents are reminded to call 911 immediately if they ever feel threatened or observe any suspicious activity.

INVESTIGATION UPDATE May 19, 2024  - Cambridge Police Department Updates its Investigation into a Reported Sexual Assault

CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Cambridge Police Department continues to use all means and resources to investigate a reported sexual assault that occurred on May 17, 2024. The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office has also assigned resources to the incident as we process gathered evidence. 

On Friday, May 17, 2024, at approximately 9:18 p.m., police responded to the Cambridgepark Drive area for an assault in progress. The victim told officers the assailant was a masked man with a knife. Detectives processed a crime scene in a restroom of a commercial building, and began working with Massachusetts State Police and Middlesex District Attorney’s Office to identify and search for the suspect.
