CPD’s 18th Secret Santa Gift Drive for Older Adults Distributes Hundreds of Gifts to Seniors
Our Secret Santa Gift Drive for Older Adults distributes donations gifts and joy to hundreds of seniors across Cambridge on its 18th year. This year we made 737 deliveries to older adults before the holiday.
This program relies solely on generous donations from Cambridge businesses, residents, community members, and CPD employees. Gift bags are organized and distributed to older residents throughout the city on the days leading up to Christmas to remind them that they are not alone. Kessen Green, our Director of Outreach & Community Planning, coordinates the program with a team of helpers in the police department and throughout the community.

“Every year, more and more older adults in Cambridge are identified as worthy recipients of this impactful program,” said Cambridge Police Commissioner Christine Elow. “The Cambridge community always rises to the occasion and meets these growing demands. With the community’s continued support, our goal is to ensure that no older adult resident feels lonely during the holiday season.”
This year’s Secret Santa partners included the Office of Mayor Denise Simmons, the Cambridge City Manager’s Office, the Cambridge Housing Authority, CambridgeSide, Reservoir Church, the Perettie Family MIT, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and Pro EMS. Special thanks to our young volunteers at the Cambridge Community Corps.
