Fatal Shooting Under Investigation in Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Cambridge Police Commissioner Christine Elow have confirmed the ongoing investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred last night in Cambridge.
Shortly before 11:30 p.m., Cambridge Police responded to Clifton Street for a report of multiple gunshots. Upon arrival police located the victim, identified as Angel Nieves, 21 of Springfield, outside a Clifton Street residence, suffering from what appeared to be numerous gunshot wounds. He was transported to Mount Auburn Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The preliminary investigation suggests this is an isolated incident.
This is an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Cambridge Police and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
