Officers observed a street level drug transaction between several individuals the 700 block of Massachusetts Ave in Central Square. The individuals were stopped and identified. It was stated that the resident had been biking on Binney St the prior evening when they were struck by a vehicle making a turn. A police officer on patrol conducted an investigative motor vehicle stop of a motorist who was believed to have a warrant for their arrest. Officers confirmed there was an active, extraditable warrant from the State of Georgia for Albert Jennings, 33, of Medford. Jennings was placed under arrest for the warrant without incident. |

The bicyclist was transported to the hospital by EMS for a suspected shoulder injury. The taxi driver provided their information to the cyclist but left the scene prior to the arrival of police. |

While inside a Central Sq. business on the 600 block of Massachusetts Ave a uniformed officer observed an individual, later identified as Edward Johnson, 26, Unhoused, conceal merchandise inside his sweatshirt pocket. The officer stopped Johnson and found he had active warrants for his arrest from district courts in Cambridge and Brookline. Johnson was placed under arrest for the warrants and during the search incident to arrest was found to have suspected methamphetamine on his person. In addition to the warrants, Johnson was charged with Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise and Possession of a Class B Substance. |
