      Innovators for Purpose (iFp) Studio is a youth-powered design and innovation program where young creatives channel their energy and creative vision to imagine and build a better world.     • Summer Reading: 3D Doodling (O'Connell)

      O'Connell Branch, 48 Sixth St., Cambridge, MA 02141

      Use one of our 3D Doodler pens to create anything your mind can dream up! For ages 5 and up. Kids under 7 must be accompanied by a grownup. No registration required.

    • Summer Art Tour: Gallery 344 at Cambridge City Hall Annex

      Join Cambridge Arts and the Cambridge Public Library for a guided tour of the Gallery 344 exhibition Rust Happen(s): Caring for the Public Art Collection and Town Green, Mike Glier's mural site in the City Hall Annex. More information about the gallery and the Cambridge Arts Council can be found here: https://www.cambridgema.gov/arts/publicart/gallery344 We will meet outside the Cambridge City Hall Annex building at 344 Broadway in Cambridge. This event is part of the Library's Summer Art Walks series.

      Esther Gomez and Karina Liendo present "The Song of Chirimia," a Guatemalan folktale of young man who tries to win the hand of a Mayan princess by making his song as sweet as that of the birds. This bilingual storytime will be presented in Spanish and English and include arts and crafts for registered attendees. This program is recommended for children above 5 years and their caregivers. Registration is recommended. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners

      Drop into the Teen Room any Tuesday afternoon this summer and enjoy a variety of FREE activities, from board games to video games, 3D pens, paper crafts, anime, and more. Or just sit down with a great book from our shelves. No registration required.

      Mass Capoeira's performance will uplift the spirit and expose audiences to the magic of Afro-Brazilian art and culture.       Families with elementary school age children join us for hands-on activities focused on Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering, and Math. Adults and children will learn and play together! This month we will be making rain gauges. This activity is part of the CPL Nature Club!

    • Summer Reading: Dungeons & Dragons 101 (Main)

      Main Library, Curious George Room, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Calling young adventurers! Ever wanted to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons? Now's your chance! Patrons ages 9 to 13 can join us at the Main Library for a 2 and a half hour session that will arm them with all the basic rules of the game! Dice, characters sheets, and everything else you need will be provided! Registration is not required, but this program does require that participants arrive promptly at the start time.

    • Summer Reading: Read to a Dog (O'Neill)

      O'Neill Branch, 70 Rindge Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140

      Read with a cuddly friend! Trained therapy dogs provide warm and non-judgmental reading companions for new or experienced readers up to age 14. Registration for each 10-minute time slot is required and begins on Wednesday, June 10 by calling or visiting the O’Neill Branch (617-349-4023).

    • Summer Reading: Rockabye Beats (Boudreau)

      Come join Rockabye Beats for an interactive, musical program experience! We'll sing, play, explore instruments, dance, pretend, learn a little Spanish, and show off our goofy side. For children of all ages and their caregivers. No registration required.     • PARK SOUNDS: ALDRA

      Main Library, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      ALDRA is a Somerville, MA-based performing and recording artist whose music draws influence from soul, R&B, and alternative pop. She captivates listeners with velvety tones, profound lyrics, and imagery to bring them on a journey through her life experiences. Rain date: Wednesday, July 17 from 6 - 7:30 pm. PARK SOUNDS 2024 brings free outdoor musical performances featuring local artists to the front lawn of the Cambridge Public Library Main Branch. These events are all-ages. Bring chairs, food, and loved ones to celebrate the summer! Funding is provided by the CPL Foundation. In memory of Janet Axelrod.
