The Early Childhood Education Career Training Program, which provides training and job experience to people interested in becoming early childhood educators, is recruiting participants for its 2023-2024 cycle. The program will begin in October 2023. In addition to completing coursework and participating in a paid internship at a Cambridge early childhood program, participants prepare to earn the nationally recognized Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
“This program has changed my life! I had wanted to go into early childhood education for a long time but did not know how to go about it,” said Sara Mulligan Farina, a participant in the 2022-2023 Early Childhood Education Career Training Program. “The very exciting news is that my internship will turn into a full-time job once I have completed the program. I will forever be grateful for this amazing opportunity.”
The program will run from October 2023 through May 2024 and include:
- Online early childhood courses
- Weekly class to support online coursework
- A paid internship at a licensed early childhood program in Cambridge
- Coaching to complete a CDA Professional Portfolio and apply for the CDA credential
- On-site observations, feedback sessions, and academic advising
- Help with career planning
