Looking for activities, services, and events happening in Cambridge? Find It Cambridge’s upgraded website makes it easier than ever to find what you are looking for -- from sports to food and clothing support; childcare to adult education; and much more!
“Find It’s mission is to help people who live and work in Cambridge navigate our city’s many resources and opportunities,” says Andrew Liedtka, Find It Cambridge Manager. “Over the last several years, we’ve collected performance data and conducted surveys, interviews, and user-testing sessions to figure out what folks in Cambridge want from Find It.”
This commitment to community engagement resulted in a website improvement process that upgrades every touchpoint of the site (www.finditcambridge.org). This includes:
- A more intuitive layout and improved searchability to help you navigate over 1,200 listings on Find It.
- New landing pages to help you better understand how Find It can help you find what you are looking for.
- New main categories and subcategories for shorter, more relevant lists of resources
- An enhanced design that incorporates the latest accessibility and translation features
“Our goal is to help you figure out your options – and save time," explains Liedtka. “A Google search will provide a range of resources that match the keywords you search – but then you will spend time verifying those results, many of which might be outside of the city. When you use Find It, we provide a short list of related resources based in Cambridge, MA – and personalized support if you need more help.”
Since launching in 2017, the number of users visiting Find It each year has grown from about 30,000 users to nearly 60,000 users each year. Nearly 500 local organizations post their opportunities on Find It, including City departments, schools, local non-profits, and other Cambridge-based organizations.
“I remember hearing from people at my daughter’s school that if we needed things like school supplies, clothes, food, or anything else, we could contact Find It for help,” explains a Cambridge parent. “I also found things I wasn’t even looking for or didn’t know I needed. I realized there were other resources out there that were helpful to me or people in my family. [Find It] is a place where you can get help with everything that you might need if you live in Cambridge.”
