MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Randy Baldassari, 38, 585 Revere Beach Parkway, Revere, was placed under arrest for simple assault and battery and disorderly conduct after he was observed by an officer on top of another individual holding him to the ground in an assaultive manner. Baldassari's violent behavior took place on a public sidewalk on Massachusetts Avenue and caused a large crowd to form around the incident. When Baldassari observed an officer approaching him, he got up and began to run. Baldassari was stopped and placed into custody.

There was an attempted shoplifting at a retail store on Alewife Brook Parkway. A small rug was taken and recovered by employees outside the store.
The suspect was described as 5 foot 7 inch, 140 pound white male, approximately 40 years of age, balding with blond hair.

Cambridge Police responded to Cambridge Street for a report of an accident with personal injury. The accident involved two vehicles that struck another from behind. One of the drivers complained of neck pain and was transported to the hospital via ambulance.
