Cambridge Police Arrest Suspect Carrying Loaded Revolver

Cambridge Police arrested a suspect yesterday due in part to focused efforts in the area of Main Street and Windsor Street. 

While on patrol on Bishop Allen Drive at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, Cambridge Police observed two individuals walking. One of the individuals was known to have a history of incidents in the community, including possession of a firearm. An officer tried speaking with the two individuals, but one of them acted suspiciously and fled when approached. Four officers initiated a pursuit on the suspect and, a short time later, Sarick Celicien, 21, 17 Barstow Street, Malden, was apprehended and a loaded revolver was recovered. He was arrested for carrying a Loaded Firearm without License and Resisting Arrest.

The area of Main Street and Windsor Street was the site of a recent gunshot incident that occurred on May 26, 2014.  The Cambridge Police had issued a Citizen Alert notifying residents of the incident.

“This arrest demonstrates quality persistence and collaboration by our officers to ensure that a potentially dangerous suspect and loaded firearm were taken off our streets,” said Deputy Superintendent Paul Ames. 

The details contained above are allegations.  The suspect is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
