Jesus Ortiz, 36, of 76 West 7th Street, South Boston, was placed under arrest when Cambridge Police units responded to a White Street establishment for a shoplifting in progress. A check of Ortiz’s backpack revealed cosmetic items also stolen from the store for a total of $363. Ortiz was charged with Larceny Over $250.
