Cambridge Police responded to the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Pearl Street for a report of several people in a fight. Officers spoke to the victim who explained he had been assaulted by four teens after he declined to give one of them a cigarette.

A Cambridge resident was summonsed to court for receiving stolen property over $250, and was issued a motor vehicle citation. Officers observed the individual and another party riding on a moped on a public road without a helmet, while proceeding through a red light. Upon noticing that officers were behind them, the operator of the vehicle swerved out of control and began to run away from the officers. The moped on which the suspect was riding on was heavily altered to conceal any identifying information, including the registration.

A Brighton resident, who works in Cambridge, reported being a victim of extortion. He that a male claiming to be a National Grid employee demanded payment for an outstanding balance. When the victim refused to make payment, she was threatened by the caller.

A Medford resident was stopped for a red light violation at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Rindge Avenue. As a result of the stop it was determined that he was operating after a revoked license. The individual was issued a citation for the violations and will be summonsed to court.

She put the money into her purse and left it there. When she looked again at 9:00pm the money was gone. She suspects that the home health aide stole the money from her purse.
