Cambridge Police yesterday arrested 47-year-old Ronald Cattouse of 204 Springfield Road in Bedford for Indecent Assault & Battery and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.  At approximately 7:23 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, Cattouse fled the area of the 1400th block of Massachusetts Avenue after he reportedly grabbed a 27-year-old female’s breast and then used a pair of scissors to cut the hand of the victim’s friend. Cambridge Police responded and stopped Cattouse without further incident.

“Due to the timely police notification from the victim’s friends and the alert response from our officers, the Cambridge Police were able to quickly apprehend a suspect who reportedly caused great harm to two innocent victims,” stated Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert C. Haas.

The suspect was arraigned in Cambridge District Court on Monday.

This arrest follows two other recent Indecent Assault and Battery incidents that occurred last week. The descriptions of the suspects closely match that of the Massachusetts Avenue suspect, but the incidents remain under active investigation. The first incident occurred on Garden Street Wednesday, August 26 at approximately 10:15 p.m., while the second took place in Brattle Square on Friday, August 28 at approximately 7:35 p.m.  The female victims reported that they were touched inappropriately by a black male. The Garden Street suspect was described as a dark-skinned black male, stocky build, approximately 5’8”, bald, wearing a red hoodie and carrying a shoulder bag. The Brattle Square suspect was described as a black, clean-shaven male wearing dark clothing.
