Upon arrival, police spoke to the reporting person who stated his motor vehicle was struck and damaged by an unknown motor vehicle while it was parked unattended at a Mass Ave. address between 12 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Members of the Special Investigations Unit were assigned directed patrols in the city of Cambridge due to an increase in package thefts. As a result of these specific thefts, plain clothes detectives have been deployed during peak hours to help attack this problem.

Benjamin Mangham, 45, homeless, was arrested for Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise (MGL c. 266 s. 30A) after he was observed by loss prevention personnel removing security packaging on a box of headphones and then placing the headphones under his shirt. Mangham also had a warrant from Boston District Court for Possession of Class B Drugs (MGL c. 94C S. 34C), Municipal By-Law or Ordinance Violation (MGL c. 40 s. 21B) and Possession of Class B Drugs, Subsequent Offense (MGL c. 94C s. 34D).
