Kristin Lucas, 33, 75 Josephine Avenue in Somerville, was arrested in Porter Square after breaking into a locker at a gym, stealing a bag and wallet; then using a stolen credit card to purchase numerous gift cards. The suspect then used one of the gift cards at a local eatery and an area liquor store.

Manuel Valerio, 48, 190 Pearl Street in Somerville, was stopped operating a motor vehicle on Prospect Street after he failed to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. A license check revealed Valerio did not have a valid license to operate a vehicle and a warrant out of Charlestown District Court. Valerio was placed in custody for the offenses and the warrant.

Cambridge Police were observing traffic at the intersection of River Street and Putnam Avenue. Officers observed a blue Ford Escape fail to yield for the red light. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver was found to only have a learner’s permit and did not have a licensed operator accompanying him. The Waltham resident was summonsed for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

A resident of Attleboro reported that she parked her 2013 Honda Accord in front of Second Street at approximately 7 p.m. She returned to find that the vehicle had been struck from the rear, causing damage to the driver's side rear quarter panel and trunk, as well as scratches to both doors. The unknown vehicle left without providing any information.

Cambridge Police Special Investigations Unit arrested Jarvis Green, 35, Homeless, and charged him with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance (Crack Cocaine), Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substances Act and a School Zone Violation. Tevin Williams, 24, 49 June Street in Roslindale, were also arrested and charged with Distribution of a Class B Substance, Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substances Act, School Zone Violation and several motor vehicle violations. Detectives conducting surveillance at Franklin Street in response to complaints of drug activity arrested both parties after observing them engage in what was believed to be a drug transaction. Seven grams of crack cocaine was recovered from Green. Over $1,200 was recovered from Williams, who fled from the motor vehicle he was operating when officers approached. He was quickly apprehended and placed under arrest. The incident occurred within 300 feet of a Pearl Street school.
