Cambridge Police responded to Prospect Street in regards to a motor vehicle crash in which a car struck a tree. A driver and his passenger were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Witnesses stated that the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed before it veered into the wrong lane and struck a tree.

Shauntae Hunter, 24, of 120 George Street in Roxbury, was arrested on Bishop Allen Drive after a foot pursuit. She was charged with uttering a false check and forgery of a check. Police were called to a bank in Central Square for a report of a female trying to pass a fake check. Upon arrival, Officers observed the female leaving the bank. When asked to come talk to the police, Hunter fled on foot and was apprehended on Bishop Allen Drive.

Loss prevention personnel for a Cambridgeside Place business reported that they stopped a shoplifter after he removed the store's security devices on two pieces of merchandise that he was attempting to steal. Wenderly Joseph, 27, of 57 Jackson Circle Unit in Cambridge, was arrested on Webster Street for a warrant issued out of Cambridge District Court and a separate charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. An unregistered motor vehicle owned by Joseph was towed from another location in Cambridge. Joseph went to the tow yard to retrieve the vehicle and was told that the car could not leave until it was properly registered. Officers were dispatched to the business and on arrival, Joseph, operating the unregistered vehicle at a high rate of speed, drove straight at a responding officer. The officer signaled for the vehicle to stop and when Joseph did not comply, the officer drew his service weapon. Joseph then changed his direction slightly and started driving toward an employee of the towing company. The employee took evasive action and Joseph stopped the vehicle and was arrested without further incident.
