07/23/2017 00:50 INCIDENT 17005048 NEGLIGENT OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE c90 S24	PROSPECT ST Cambridge Police responded to Prospect Street in regards to a motor vehicle crash in which a car struck a tree. A driver and his passenger were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Witnesses stated that the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed before it veered into the wrong lane and struck a tree.

07/23/2017 10:27 INCIDENT 17005051 OPENING A DOOR WHEN UNSAFE (INTO TRAFFIC, BICYCLIS	MASSACHUSETTS AVE An Arlington resident was riding his bicycle when a Brookline resident opened his car door, striking the bicyclist on Massachusetts Avenue. The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

07/23/2017 11:25 TRAFFIC 17005053 TRAFFIC INVESTIGATIONS	MASSACHUSETTS AVE Cambridge Police responded to Massachusetts Avenue for a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist. The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
07/23/2017 12:04 INCIDENT 17005055 LARCENY OVER $250 c266 S30	CONCORD AVE An employee of a Concord Avenue business reported her purse and personal belongings were stolen from behind the store sometime between 11:00am and 11:30am by an unknown person.
07/23/2017 12:25 INCIDENT 17005054 UTTER FALSE CHECK C267 S5	MASSACHUSETTS AVE Shauntae Hunter, 24, of 120 George Street in Roxbury, was arrested on Bishop Allen Drive after a foot pursuit. She was charged with uttering a false check and forgery of a check. Police were called to a bank in Central Square for a report of a female trying to pass a fake check. Upon arrival, Officers observed the female leaving the bank. When asked to come talk to the police, Hunter fled on foot and was apprehended on Bishop Allen Drive.

07/23/2017 16:52 INCIDENT 17005063 DEFACE PROPERTY c266 S126	CAMBRIDGE ST A Cambridge Street resident reported that between 7/22/17 at 6:00 p.m. and 7/23/17 at 3:00 p.m., an unknown person defaced their motor vehicle while it was parked on Willow Street.

07/22/2017 11:30 INCIDENT 17005031 B&E MV / BOAT NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY C266 S16	BANKS ST A Cambridge resident reported that between 11 p.m. on 7/21/2017 and 11 a.m. on 7/22/2017, an unknown person entered her unlocked motor vehicle while parked in her driveway and stole loose coins
07/22/2017 12:50 INCIDENT 17005034 LARCENY OVER $250 c266 S30	CAMBRIDGESIDE PL Loss prevention personnel for a Cambridgeside Place business reported that they stopped a shoplifter after he removed the store's security devices on two pieces of merchandise that he was attempting to steal. Staff states that as they waited to properly ID the suspect, he fled the store leaving behind his Massachusetts ID.

07/22/2017 15:26 INCIDENT 17005035 NUMBER PLATE VIOLATION ATTACHING / OBSCURING / FAI	CLAY ST Cambridge police responded for a report of a blocked driveway. The vehicle was found to have attached plates. A summons was issued for the vehicle owner.
07/22/2017 16:51 INCIDENT 17005036 LARCENY UNDER $250 c266 S30	JFK ST Victor Velasquez, 51, of 1113 Broadway Street in Somerville, was arrested for taking $223.19 worth of nail polish products from a JFK Street business without paying for them.
07/22/2017 17:58 INCIDENT 17005038 ASSAULT W/DANGEROUS WEAPON c265 S15B	WEBSTER AVE Wenderly Joseph, 27, of 57 Jackson Circle Unit in Cambridge, was arrested on Webster Street for a warrant issued out of Cambridge District Court and a separate charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. An unregistered motor vehicle owned by Joseph was towed from another location in Cambridge. Joseph went to the tow yard to retrieve the vehicle and was told that the car could not leave until it was properly registered. Officers were dispatched to the business and on arrival, Joseph, operating the unregistered vehicle at a high rate of speed, drove straight at a responding officer. The officer signaled for the vehicle to stop and when Joseph did not comply, the officer drew his service weapon. Joseph then changed his direction slightly and started driving toward an employee of the towing company. The employee took evasive action and Joseph stopped the vehicle and was arrested without further incident.

07/21/2017 10:00 INCIDENT 17005007 LARCENY OVER $250 c266 S30	CAMBRIDGESIDE PL A Cambridgeside Place business reported that on 7/20/2017, a male suspect was approached by loss prevention after he was observed trying to exit the store without paying for two new laptops that he had concealed inside his bag. The business retrieved their merchandise, but the suspect fled the premises prior to being properly identified.

07/21/2017 11:57 INCIDENT 17005010 SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE / EOD INVESTIGATION	MT AUBURN ST A suspicious package was called in to the police. The Explosive Ordinance Unit responded and it was cleared by an officer and his K-9 partner.
