Two Victims Suffer Gunshot Wounds at River and Auburn Street

The Cambridge Police Department is investigating a pair of shootings that occurred earlier this morning in the area of River and Auburn Street. At approximately 10:46 a.m., Cambridge Police responded after several gunshots were reported. One male sustained a gunshot wound to their knee and the other a gunshot to their hand. Both injuries are considered non-life threatening and the victims were treated at local hospitals. 

While no arrests have been made at this stage, the investigation into these incidents is ongoing. Cambridge Police believe these are targeted incidents between known parties and that there is no threat to the public’s safety.

A red motor vehicle was reported as leaving the scene as well as a male on a white bicycle. The vehicle has since been seized by the Cambridge Police Department.

Traffic, which had closed several streets immediately following the incident, has since re-opened on River Street. However, Magazine and Auburn Street and Magazine and Pleasant Street remain closed.
