Loss Prevention Personnel at a department store reported that a male shoplifter attempted to leave their store with two Bluetooth speakers, but when approached by Loss Prevention, the suspect dropped the merchandise and fled the store. However, in his haste to flee the store, the suspect also dropped his MA State Driver’s License and the photo positively matched the suspect who fled the store.

Cambridge Police responded to the area of Hampshire and Portland Streets for the report of two vehicles involved in a disturbance, possibly following a crash. According to Dispatch, the two motor vehicles were in motion and following each other. Approximately five minutes later, officers observed the two vehicles at the intersection of Cambridge and Willow Streets, both public ways in the City of Cambridge. Officers spoke to all involved parties on scene and determined that this incident was not an accident. Upon further investigation, Officers discovered that one of the involved operators was operating a motor vehicle on a public way with a Revoked Driver's License. In addition to this offense, it was discovered that there was a warrant issued by the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Police Department for the arrest of the driver (Cameron Duarte, 28, 4 Johnson Street in Wareham, MA) for Failure to Appear and Driving Under the Influence of Drugs. Duarte was subsequently placed under arrest and booked in the usual manner.

ECC dispatched officers to a restaurant located at Massachusetts Avenue for a driving to endanger call. A search of the area and the identified party’s residence was conducted with negative results.
