Cambridge Police responded near the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Norfolk Street to investigate a male party that was witnessed by police walking down the sidewalk covered in blood. After further investigation it was discovered that the male had been assaulted in front of a local restaurant nearby. The male was treated for his injuries on scene by Professional Ambulance personnel but refused to be transported to a local hospital and was brought to a hospital in Boston by a friend he was with at the time in his personal vehicle.

FRANKLIN ST

Cambridge Police responded to the Franklin Street Park in regards to a group of 3-4 people shooting up heroin in the park. Two neighbors observed 3-4 males handling needles and spoons inside of the park. Officers observed three suspicious males leave the park. Officers found a needle cap and a bloody napkin near a table next to where the suspects were seen. Officers stopped the three suspicious males on Franklin Street, approximately 100 yards away from the park. Two of the males were cooperative and no contraband was found on them. The third male (identified as Isaiah Higgins, 19, of 168 Medford Street, Arlington) initially provided officers with a false name and he was very nervous - he kept placing his hands in his pockets despite officers’ orders not to. Officers noticed that Mr. Higgins was walking a black bicycle with pink tires and parts. Mr. Higgins initially stated that an unknown, random person gave the bicycle to him for free in Harvard Square this afternoon. Officers searched Mr. Higgins' person and the drawstring bag that he was carrying. Officers discovered two pieces of blotter paper wrapped in paper/plastic inside of Mr. Higgins' bag. Mr. Higgins admitted that the blotter paper contained acid/LSD. Mr. Higgins was placed under arrest and charged with Possession to Distribute Class B Drug for possessing 130 tablets of LSD.
