UNLICENSED OPERATION OF MV c90 S10

GARDEN ST
Jose Perez-Salguero, 21, 122 Garfield Avenue in Chelsea, was placed under arrest for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property over $250. Cambridge Police was flagged down on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Garden Street by bystanders and encountered Perez-Salguero, who was involved in a motor vehicle crash. Upon Cambridge Police request, Perez-Salguero failed to produce a valid motor vehicle license and failed to provide proof of ownership of the vehicle he was operating. Cambridge Police relayed the vehicle Perez-Salguero was operating to ECC and ECC confirmed that vehicle was reported stolen. At this time, Perez-Salguero was placed under arrest without incident and transported via wagon to the police station.

A Cambridge resident called CPD to report that an unknown person(s) gained entrance overnight to her motor vehicle as it was parked in front of the residence. Doors may have been unlocked. Nothing appears missing at this time, but a zipped plastic case was left in the car and it contains marijuana and some yellow pills.

A Cambridge resident reports between 4/30/18 at 6 p.m. and 5/1/18 at 8 a.m. her vehicle was struck in the rear bumper while parked in her driveway. The suspect did not make themselves known and fled the area. The rear bumper is damaged.

Cambridge Police were dispatched to a Main Street retail store for a report of two unwanted parties causing a disturbance. Upon further investigation, the two parties were identified and David Mejia, 19, 158 Plymouth Drive in Norwood, was placed under arrest for two warrants out of Dedham District Court for Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Drive in the Right Lane and one other charge.

Cambridge Police responded to a Massachusetts Avenue address for a report of a fight in progress. The victim reported that he had been engaged in a physical altercation with an unknown party when he was kicked head. After being evaluated by Pro Ambulance, the victim declined transportation to the hospital for further medical evaluation and/or treatment.

An Elm Street resident reported being swindled out of $3,500.00 in an IRS tax scam on 5/3/18. The victim bought $3,500.00 worth of gift cards and supplied the codes to a suspect to settle an alleged tax debt.

Cambridge Police were flagged down by a department store’s loss prevention at Massachusetts Avenue for a male wearing a blue jacket and blue hat who had taken an Apple TV and placed it in his jacket. Upon further investigation, Ariste Lemus-Ramirez, 22, homeless, was placed under arrest for a warrant and charged with Shoplifting by Concealment.

An Allston resident was stopped at a red light on Mass Ave. waiting for the green directional to turn left onto Sidney Street. While at the complete stop, a vehicle was passing in the opposite direction towards BOSTON and drifted over and struck the car's rear view mirror causing heavy damage.

A Rhode Island resident reported the theft of his motor vehicle on 5/3/18 at approximately 10 p.m. His 2009 Toyota Prius had been stolen from the lot at Rindge Avenue sometime between 9 a.m. the day prior and 8 p.m.
