INCIDENT  18003140

MEMORIAL DR

Cambridge Police were on routine patrol in the parking lot of a shopping plaza on Memorial Drive when officers noticed a gray Mercedes parked in said lot. A CJIS query of the registration revealed that the vehicle's license plate was stolen. Additionally, the VIN on the vehicle did not match the VIN assigned to the license plate in CJIS. Officers approached the vehicle and woke up a male (identified as Thomas Morse, 34, of 11 Emerald Street, Newton) who was sleeping in the driver's seat. Morse then turned the vehicle's ignition on (his driver's license is Revoked as a Habitual Traffic Offender). He then provided officers with a fake driver's license. Officers searched his wallet in attempt to find a valid form of identification. The wallet contained numerous forms of identification/credit cards/EBT cards/checks with multiple different names on said documents. Officers were eventually able to determine Morse’s true identity and it was discovered that he had three outstanding arrest warrants. Officers searched the contents of the vehicle to locate additional stolen property. A search of Morse’s person and vehicle revealed the following: four fake driver's licenses, one real driver's license that does not belong to Morse, an M80 firework, eight credit/debit cards that are assigned to somebody other than Morse, two falsely embossed credit cards, a forged check, 23 packets of Suboxone strips, an off-white substance believed to be heroin, a rock-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, and materials used to package/distribute the narcotics. Morse was placed under arrest and charged with the following offenses: Operating a Motor Vehicle With License Revoked as Habitual Traffic Offender, Take Number Plate, Attaching Number Plate Violation, Possession of Unlawful Fireworks, Forgery of Check, Identity Fraud, Possess/Use False/Stolen RMV Documents, Receiving Stolen Credit Cards, Possess Counterfeit Credit Card Press, Possession of Class A Drug, Possession to Distribute Class B Drug, and Possession of Class B Drug.
