The Cambridge Police today recovered a loaded .38 caliber firearm, drugs, scales, and cash earlier this morning following an illegally parked vehicle stop in
Central Square. Patrol Officers observed the driver - James Bonaventure, 24, Cambridge - of the vehicle park and exit the driver's seat while in a No Parking Zone in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Prospect Street at approximately
8:45 a.m. An investigation into the vehicle and operator's license revealed that Bonaventure was operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
While awaiting a tow, Officers began to perform a search of the vehicle. During the search, Officers recovered a loaded .38 caliber firearm, multiple bags of marijuana, pills, $599 in cash, scales and other paraphernalia, all of which was submitted to evidence.
Bonaventure was arrested and faces a number of charges, including Carrying a Firearm without a License, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Possession of a Class E Drug, Possession of a Class D Drug with Intent to Distribute, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
